State of the Pack Howl
I can’t believe that it is already 2015. This means that I again have the pleasure of writing a State of the Pack Howl.
2014 was a great year of growth for VAN-PAH. Together we further developed our connections in the community and have continued to build on existing relationships while taking on new challenges.
During 2014 we took full ownership of planning the Rubbout puppy party. The Puppy Bowl was a great success and we look forward to organizing this year’s puppy event as well. Once again we joined the Vancouver Sisters in the pride parade where we helped spread the message of “No Shame in Being You”. We took our place on the regional stage by hosting this year’s Northwest Puppy and Handler contest and showed not only our hospitality but also our vibrant community. We also celebrated as our own Daddy Rodney and Pup Kona took the Handler and Puppy titles respectively. We fostered our existing relationships even more by participating in the Fetish Fest during VML’s (Vancouver Men in Leather) decade anniversary party and we co-hosted the Kinky Christmas Party with both VML and Rubbout.
During the past year we also had more social events outside of moshes than ever before. During the summer we held our first BBQ with romping and fun in the sun. The puppy invasions of the corn maze and of Fright Nights at the PNE were also fun successes that we look to repeat.
This past year has seen our community grow in size and diversity. With every mosh and every event that we host, or plan, we continue to create a space that welcomes all those involved in or interested in puppy play to gather no matter their orientation or gender.
2015 promises to be an exciting year for VAN-PAH. During our last mosh we began collecting emails from those desiring to be on our new email list. We also are proud to announce the launch of our new YAPP. This is a way to get all of your VAN-PAH news on your mobile device. YAPP is available on iOS and Android and is a great way to access all of the information you need right from your phone or tablet. To access VAN-PAH’s YAPP just go to http://my.yapp.us/CGHX9J on your mobile device and follow the instructions to download it.
Also during 2015 we look forward to deepening our relationship with our host bar, Pumpjack. During the year we will be making announcements about formal membership, and its benefits, as well as ways we can further support our sibling organizations across the region. We are excited to work with SEA-PAH and PDX-PAH as we have in the past, and we welcome BOI-PAH (Boise Pups and Handlers) to our region.
Thank you all for an awesome 2014 and I can’t wait to see what we all do together this year.
Yours in Service,
Pup Figaro, Alpha of VAN-PAH
In memory of those we have lost.
